MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Three people were arrested in Marshall County, Kentucky after deputies served an active warrant.

John M. Nicholas, 57, of Benton, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

Amanda Duncan, 33, of Eldorado, was arrested on a probation violation.

James E. Warford, 45, of Hardin, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine - first offense, possession of a controlled substance - first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

According to Kentucky State Police, a trooper was trying to find Nicholas on Aug. 18 on an active warrant.

The trooper received information that Nicholas was at a home on Commerce St. in Hardin, Ky.

A Marshall County deputy responded to assist. Both officers say they heard activity in the home, but the people inside refused to answer the door.

The officers say they smelled a chemical odor consistent with making meth. They say they found several inactive meth labs on the property.

Additional officers arrived, and Nicholas was found inside the home with two other people.

Nicholas was taken into custody and officers got a search warrant for the home.

According to KSP, two active meth labs, as well as additional items of drugs and drug paraphernalia, were removed by detectives from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office during a search of the home and outbuildings.
