Williamson Co. football players, coaches, cheerleaders celebrate opening of 2015 season

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The 5th annual Williamson County Football Kickoff was held Tuesday evening, Aug. 18.

Nearly 400 coaches, players and cheerleaders from four Williamson County football and cheerleading squads celebrated the 2015 season at the Community of Faith Church in Marion.

Reverend Troy Benitone said he started the event five years ago to bring Williamson county Football together.

The Carterville Lions led by Head Coach Dennis Drust, the Herrin Tigers led by Head Coach Jason Karnes, the Johnston City Indians led by Head Coach Dan Mings and the Marion Wildcats led by Head Coach Kerry Martin will bee there to celebrate the opening of the 2015 season.

The event was hosted by the Community of Faith Church BBQ Heroes Cooking Team who cooked all of the teams a free BBQ dinner.
