Former Murray State football player facing drug charges

A Murray man is behind bars, accused of driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff, a deputy stopped 22-year-old Ezekiel Pike on Sunday, August 16.

During the stop, the deputy suspected Pike to be under the influence of alcohol and other substances and took Pike into custody.

Pike was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Sam Steger said Pike resisted arrest.

While he was being taken to the Murray Calloway County Hospital, Pike was able to break free from custody, but was quickly arrested again.

According to a release from Murray State University, Pike was released from the team this week. Pike recently transferred from the University of Louisville and was also a quarterback recruit at Auburn University.

Pike faces several charges including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs 1st offense with an aggravator, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, escape 2nd degree, disregarding a stop sign, and failure to signal.

Pike remains in the Calloway County Jail.
