'The Reptile Experience' coming to the Rend Lake Visitor Center


The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake would like to invite everyone to "The Reptile Experience" with wildlife expert Serengeti Steve.

The Rend Lake Visitor Center will host the program on Saturday, August 22.

There will be a show at 11 a.m. and a second show at 2 p.m..

This program is free and fills up quickly.

Serengeti Steve is from St. Louis and he brings a very unique, hands-on experience for people of all ages.

He has raised and maintained more than 50 species of exotic snakes, monitors, lizards, scorpions and tarantulas.

He has appeared on "America's Got Talent" and has broken a Guiness World Record.

On April 21, 2011 at Parkway South High School Steve broke the world record for holding a scorpion in his mouth for 17 minutes and 17 seconds.
