I-55 northbound at MM 104 is clear after vehicle fire

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Fire crews worked to put out a vehicle fire on I-55 at mile marker 104 in Cape Girardeau County.

Both lanes of I-55 northbound were closed at one point so the fire could be put out.

A truck driver made the emergency call just before 3 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, no one was in the vehicle at the time of the fire.

The highway patrol reports it appears that the driver was having car problems and abandoned the vehicle.

According to the KFVS crew on the scene, the fire appears to be out.
