Man injured, charged with DUI after McCracken Co. crash

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A McCracken County man injured in a crash on Kelly Road on Friday night, Aug. 14.

James Burlingame, 70, of Paducah, was charged with DUI - first offense, three counts of criminal mischief and failure to produce insurance card.

According to deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, they responded to the crash at 7:30 p.m.

They say they were notified of a possible drunk driver that had driven off of the road into a resident's yard. Deputies say they received several calls from residents in the area of 4000 Kelly Road stating they saw a white Ford pickup driving all over the road and into several yards.

Just before Sheriff Jon Hayden arrived in the area, he said a citizen reported that the man had left the crash scene and was walking toward U.S. 60.

Sheriff Hayden said he saw James Burlingame walking across the parking lot of the Dollar General store with obvious facial injuries.

Burlingame was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries and cited to court.

He was charged with three counts of criminal mischief for the damage to each yard.
