Carbondale man charged with stealing car in Cape Girardeau

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Carbondale police have charged a homeless man with stealing a car in Cape Girardeau.

According to police, an officer noticed Diovionne Moore, 23, walking along West Chestnut Street in Carbondale carrying multiple electronics on Aug. 13. Officers spoke with Moore and learned that he had entered an unlocked car on the night of Aug. 12 and stolen the items. 

Officers also received information that Moore was a suspect in a vehicle theft from Cape Girardeau that was recovered in Carbondale on July 21.

Moore was arrested and charged with auto burglary and possession of stolen vehicle. He was incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail.  The investigation continues.
