5 people charged after fight at Orient, IL tavern

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Five people have been arrested after a large fight at a tavern in Orient, Illinois on Friday, Aug. 14.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Elsie's Tavern at around 1:42 a.m. When they arrived, they say they found two people, a man and a woman, with serious injuries.

They were taken to an area hospital by the West Frankfort Fire Department ambulance. Deputies say their condition is unknown at this time.

The five people arrested include:

  • Bryan D. Williams, 27, of Valier, charged with aggravated battery and mob action.
  • Nicole L. Pike, 31, of Benton, charged with aggravated battery and mob action.
  • Heather M. O'Griffin, 28, of West Frankfort, charged with aggravated battery.
  • Sean P. O'Griffin, 31, of West Frankfort, charged with aggravated assault and obstructing a police officer.
  • Jarrett W. Rich, 31, of Orient, charged with obstructing a police officer.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by West Frankfort police and Illinois State Police. The investigation is ongoing.
