PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Four people, including two infants had to be rushed to the hospital after police say a drunk driver ran through a stop sign and hit two other SUVs.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office reports the accident happened around 2:20 p.m. Thursday, August 13th at the intersection of Meacham and Hovekamp in Paducah.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators a 2004 Lexus SUV ran a stop sign on Meacham, and collided with a 1998 Ford Explorer. Then it spun around and collided head on with a 2005 Lincoln SUV.

Witnesses also told deputies the driver of the Lexus got into a verbal argument with the passenger of the Explorer, then left the scene on foot.

Ambulances took two adults, a 1-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl, all passengers in the Explorer, to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police identified the driver of the Lexus as Robert Haun, 24 of Brookport. Officers apprehended Haun running away near the Woodlawn trailer park a short time after receiving word he had left the scene of the accident.

Investigators say Haun had been driving drunk when the crash happened, as well as driving on a suspended license.

When deputies contacted the owner of the Lexus SUV Haun was driving, they were told Haun was not given permission to take it. In fact, the Lexus’ owner did not even know it was gone until officers contacted him.

Haun is now charged with a list of charges, including DUI, 6 counts of Wanton Endangerment, and Assault.
