Carterville, IL pharmacist accused of operating on suspended license

CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

Police in Carterville, Illinois executed a search warrant on Aug. 11 at an area pharmacy.

Police, in conjunction with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, executed the warrant after authorities were notified of circumstances involving Tri-C Pharmacy.

On July 17, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation suspended the Illinois pharmacy license after being told that pharmacist and owner Kristi A. Schulmeister had violated the Illinois Control Substances Act and the Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act by operating on a suspended license.

An investigation of possible criminal charges is pending with the Williamson County State's Attorney's Office.

Signs have been posted at the pharmacy that the store will be closed permanently.
