The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield will observe "Spirit of '45 Day" on Aug. 16.
The program will begin at 2 p.m. at the Committal Shelter Plaza in the cemetery.
The second Sunday in August has been proposed as the "Spirit of '45 Day" to commemorate the anniversary of the end of the second World War on August 14.
With the assistance of the Stoddard County Veteran Honor Guard, the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield will honor WWII veterans by participating in the National Spirit of '45 Program and placing a wreath at the cemetery.
Since opening on September 29, 2003 the cemetery has conducted over 2,450 interments.
The interments have included individuals from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf War periods.
The cemetery in the final resting place for many veterans, including former Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action or Killed in Action.
Families and friends of those interred as well as the general public are invited to attend.
