24-year-old man sentenced to prison in West Frankfort arson case

WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) -

Christopher A Evrard, 24, has been sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections after being found guilty on arson charges.

On July 26, 2014 police and fire crews responded to a fire at Anna Gray Highrise at 1405 East Main Street in West Frankfort.

According to the West Frankfort Police Department, a number of fires had been set throughout the evening at the structure in various locations.

Evrard was identified as a suspect.

The State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate.

Evrard was charged with aggravated arson and arson involving real/personal property over $150.00.

Evrard appeared in court about a year later, and was found guilty of the charges.

In addition to a four year prison sentence, Evrard was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1743.50.
