BOLLINGER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

More than 450 marijuana plants were seized on Monday morning, Aug. 10 from a Bollinger County, Missouri home.

Carl Burger, 63, was charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and distribution, delivery, manufacture or production of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $250,000 cash only.

According to Bollinger County Sheriff Darin Shell, officers with the Bollinger County Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force served a search warrant issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office on a home in Glen Allen, Mo.

Sheriff Shell said the investigation began in late 2014 after the sheriff's office received information that Carl Burger was allegedly involved in making and distributing marijuana.

In July 2015, Sheriff Shell said a joint investigation began between the sheriff's office and the DEA. From that, they got a federal search warrant for Burger's home and property.

While serving the warrant, he said officers found marijuana growing in the home and different areas on the property.

Items seized include:

  • 141 marijuana plants seized from inside the home
  • 312 marijuana plants seized from different growing areas on the property
  • 453 total marijuana plants seized
  • Estimated 2 pounds of processed marijuana seized from inside the home

Sheriff Shell said other items seized include: grow lights, grow light bulbs, electric timers, power inverters, exhaust fans, electric generators, digital scales, triple beam scales, Borax and miscellaneous documents.

Burger is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.
