Paducah police investigating bicycle thefts

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Police in Paducah, Kentucky are investigating the theft of three bicycles from locations just a block apart on Saturday night, Aug. 8.

Police say a man in the 300 block of North 7th Street told them at 6:10 a.m. on Sunday that someone cut the chain and took his Trek bicycle, valued at $700, from his porch. It happened between 8 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. on Sunday.

The bicycle is described as gray with a white trim, black full seat and a basket on the back.

Less than three hours later, police say another man told them someone disassembled a bike rack on his 2003 Honda Pilot while it was parked in the 300 block of North 8th Street and took two bicycles. It happened between 10 p.m. on Saturday and 8:50 a.m. on Sunday.

Those bikes are described as a dark green Surly disk trucker bicycle with upswept handle bars, a Brooks black leather seat with springs and front and rear racks. It's valued at $2,100.

The other was an orange and white Canondale Quick bicycle with a white saddle, a rear rack, a blue travel bag, a customized double-chain ring and a chargeable light on the back. The bike also has a flat bar handle bar and a "cat eye" computer, along with stickers that say "Pedal Chick," "Great Alley Game Passage," "Bike Athens" and "Sunshine Cycle." It's valued at $600.
