Williamson Co. Sheriff: Look for back-to-school traffic changes

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Back-to-school time means traffic changes and more pedestrians, said Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick.

That's why Sheriff Vick wants to remind drivers in his county to be careful and stay alert.

"Kids may be walking to or from school, or crossing the street to board a bus, and they may be talking with friends and not watching out for traffic," Vick says. "It's our job as drivers to be on the lookout for them."

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office will conduct speed enforcement details in the areas of Adams School on Lake of Egypt Road, Lincoln School on Corinth Road, and Project ECHO on Route 37 north of Johnston City in the coming weeks.
