Paducah man wanted in connection with robbery arrested in Cairo, IL

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Authorities in Cairo, Illinois arrested a McCracken County man accused of robbing a Paducah resident in his home in July.

Ray P. Jordan, 35, was arrested on a warrant charging him with second degree robbery and in a bench warrant with failing to appear in court.

Jordan was arrested by Cairo police at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. He was booked into the Pulaski County Jail to await extradition to Kentucky.

According to police, a man told them on July 15 that he was at his home on South 28th Street when a man came by to see if wanted his yard mowed. He said the man had mowed his yard several times before.

The victim told police he told the man no, and as he turned, the man twisted his arm behind him and forced him onto the couch. He said the man took about $100 cash and his cell phone.

Police determined the suspect was Ray P. Jordan, 35. They got a warrant charging him with second degree robbery.

According to police, there was also an outstanding bench warrant charging him with failing to appear in court.
