Pedestrian killed in single car crash in Hamilton Co.

HAMILTON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car Sunday morning in Hamilton County, Ill.

Illinois State Police say Tony S. Dugaro, 45, of Eldorado, Ill., was driving south bound on Illinois Route 142, approximately ½ mile north of Hamilton County Road 100N early Sunday morning.

Officials say that is where he struck a pedestrian in the roadway.

The pedestrian, William G. Tison, 30, also of Eldorado, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hamilton County Coroner.

Dugaro was not injured as a result of the traffic crash.

His vehicle was damaged and towed from the crash scene.

Dugaro was cited for driving while his driver's license was suspended.

ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, McLeansboro Police Department, and the Saline County Sheriff’s Department.

An Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Officer (C.R.O.), Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigator (C.S.I.), and Illinois State Police Investigative Trooper have been assigned to the crash investigation.
