MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Kentucky man was sent to the hospital when he accidentally clipped the rear of a car while trying to pass it on a motorcycle.

On Friday at approximately 3:47 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of 4131 Clarks River Road for an accident involving a motorcycle.

Officials say Christopher Curnel, of Smithland, Ky., was operating a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle east bound on Clarks River Road when he attempted to change lanes to pass a vehicle.

Jennifer Lindsey, of Benton, Ky., was operating a 2013 Hyundai also east bound on Clarks River Road,

Officials say Lindsey changed from the left lane of traffic into the right lane of traffic at same time Curnel was attempting to pass.

Curnel then apparently collided with the rear of Lindsey’s vehicle, causing him to lose control and fall from his motorcycle.

Curnel was transported by Mercy EMS to Western Baptist Hospital for his injuries.
