COBDEN, IL (KFVS) -

The 78th annual Cobden Peach Festival kicks off August 7 at 5 p.m.

Festival organizers were out on Thursday near the Cobden Unit School District 17 where the festival is held setting up.

This weekend folks are invited to visit the festival to get fresh peaches, cobblers and pies.

The parade on Saturday begins at 4:30 p.m.

There will also be rides, food and several other events including the Cobden Peach Pageant and parade.

Festival organizer Eileen Wilkins said it’s something people from all over look forward to.

“It’s just a gather of people just celebrating community and the lions club does a lot of hard work to bring everyone out because the proceeds that we make from this we throw back into community," Wilkins said.

The festival runs through Saturday evening.

Here is full list of activities.
