STEELE, MO (KFVS) -

Police in Steele, Mo. have arrested a man and a woman in connection to house fire that appears to have been deliberately set.

Steele Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield says Steele Police and Fire Department responded to a house fire on Liberty Street Tuesday night at approximately 8:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the home fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters arrived quickly on the scene and extinguished the fire.

Due to the quick response of the firefighters, no neighboring homes were damaged.

No one was inside the home at time of the fire.

During the investigation, it appeared the fire was deliberately set, and police contacted the Missouri State Fire Marshal to assist in the investigation.

Officers interviewed Melissa Wade, 32, and Terry Partain, 49, both from Steele.

After interviewing Wade and Partain, officers charged the two with arson.

Both were transported to the Pemiscot County Jail where they were incarcerated.

Bond set for Wade was $100,000, and Partain's bond was set at $200,000.

Partain was also charged with five counts of burglary, in connection to several residential burglaries in the city.

Additional felony burglary charges have also been filed with the Prosecuting Attorney on Partain, and additional warrants are expected.
