Police: 2 Portageville teens behind bars after string of burglaries

PORTAGEVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

After a string of vehicle burglaries over the last two months, the Portageville Police Department reports two teens are behind bars.

Police Chief Ronnie Adams reports officers recovered five firearms that were stolen from vehicles.

Adams said that information led investigators to two suspects.

Officers arrested two Portageville teens for their alleged involvement. 

A 19-year-old male and 16-year-old male are in custody, but their names are being withheld until formal charges are filed by the New Madrid County Prosecuting Attorney.
