4 people killed Saturday night in central Missouri crash

CALLAWAY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Four people were killed in a 2-car crash in central Missouri late Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a car driven by Miriah C. McDaniel, 17, of Holts Summit, Mo., was driving eastbound in the passing lane on U.S. Highway 54 in Callaway County around midnight.

In the car with McDaniel was Elizabeth K. Moses, 17, and Meggan Fowler, 13.

Both were also from Holts Summit.

Officials say a car driven by Kathryn A. Zavoral, 27, of Jefferson City, Mo., was traveling west bound in the same lane McDaniel was traveling in, when she struck her car head-on.

Zavoral's car overturned and caught fire.

All four passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says none of the victims were wearing a seat belt.
