ZEIGLER, IL (KFVS) -

Roughly 5,000 people attended the Ducks and Bucks Outfitters Off Road Freedom Fest in Zeigler, Ill.

It's a three day event that features mud races, truck pulls, mud volleyball, music, games, and much more.

This is the first time this mud festival has come to this area. It brought in people from nine states and had traffic in Zeigler and surrounding highways backed up at times.

People were not only purchasing items at the event but also at many stores and businesses in Zeigler. So much in fact, that the town hasn't had this much traffic in a long time.

Owners of the event and Zeigler Police Chief Ben Burkhammer, says businesses flourished in sales at restaurants, gas stations, banks and other places. So much traffic that owners say they anticipate being back next year as well.
