PIEDMONT, MO (KFVS) -

A father and son duo from Farmington have quite the fish story to tell!

Anthony and Alec Stacy caught an 83-pound flathead catfish from Clearwater Lake on June 9.

They set limb lines and used live bait.

The fish was 60 inches long and 37 inches around.

Anthony Stacy says they were very surprised to catch such a big fish.

They have a long family history of fishing and fish Clearwater Lake often.

Anthony says he drove the boat and his 15-year-old son and his friends did the rest.

It is the biggest fresh water fish they've ever caught.

The fish died as it was very fatigued when they caught it, so they decided to eat it.
