CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Summer break is winding down and it's nearly time to send the kids back to school.
That means mom will soon be caught up in the hustle and bustle of lunch packing and bus catching, so much so she might forget to take care of herself!
This week Nichole Cartmell shares her go-to no-cook good morning recipe that you can mix the night before and grab and go come morning. It's a perfect breakfast for busy moms.
Use low-fat milk, low-fat Greek yogurt and add chia seeds or flax for added protein and fiber.
- ½ cup oats
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ vanilla yogurt
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Tablespoon Raspberry preserves
- 1 handful of raspberries
- Optional: 2 Tablespoons chopped almonds
Add oats, milk, yogurt, vanilla extract, raspberry preserves and raspberries to a Mason jar or plastic container with a lid and stir.*
Put the lid on the jar or container and place in the refrigerator overnight.
In the morning, add almonds and additional raspberries on top if desired. Enjoy!
*Add chia seeds, flax and use Greek yogurt for added fiber, protein and Omega3 benefits.
