WARREN COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A man shot and killed a 15-foot python in Warren County, Missouri Tuesday morning.

A massive Burmese Python was on the loose for days in the county just west of St. Louis.

Several small animals had disappeared without a trace.

One neighbor had two dogs disappear, but didn't think the snake ate them, according to KTVI in St. Louis.

Another neighbor had three chickens vanish recently.

A woman woke up to her St. Bernard-Lab mix dog having a fit in the yard early Tuesday morning.

She saw the snake and woke up her husband.

Her husband's father came over and shot the snake with a shotgun.

The snake measured 14’ 7” and 160 pounds.

A Department of Conservation spokesman told FOX 2 (KTVI) that pet Burmese Pythons often get too big for their owners to handle and the owners dump them in the wild.
