First Alert Action Day: Hot hot hot, possible storms later

Weather Outlook:

Prepare for another hot and humid First Alert Action Day. Brian Alworth says the heat index could reach well over 100 degrees for the second day in a row. There is a chance for strong thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Good news, though, we will see a light breeze but it won't help you out until much later. Brian says if you have outdoor chores, you might want to wait until closer to sunset to complete them.

Making Headlines:

Shooting investigation: Police are searching for more information after an incident on Madison Street in West Frankfort. The Franklin County Coroner confirms two people have died.

Deadly flood waters: The Trigg County EMA reports a woman died in Caldwell County after the road she was driving on was washed out by flood waters. The woman is the mother of the Trigg County Rescue Squad Chief.

Shots fired: The Cape Girardeau Police Department is investigating after residents living on the corner of Hanover and William Streets report hearing gun shots. KFVS is working to find out if anyone was injured.

Making history: A female is the NFL's newest coach. The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that Jen Welter has been added to their staff as a training camp and preseason coaching intern.
