Brute strength needed! SIU looking for volunteers for student move-in day

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

If you have some time in August and love to be on a college campus, you can volunteer to help students move into their dorms at Southern Illinois University.

More than 1,000 new students will move in on Thursday, August 20, with an additional 1,000 new students moving in the next day.

Then, on August 22, approximately 1,200 returning students will unload their stuff and get settled in.

It takes lots of people from across the SIU campus and the community to pull this off. To learn more or to sign up, you can click here.

During the move-in, University Housing will provide free welcome lunches to all residents and accompanying families as well as to volunteers who help.

If you volunteer, you'll receive a complimentary meal ticket when you check-in on site.
