Police: Man injured during shooting in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Cape Girardeau Police Department reports a man is recovering after a shooting on S. Hanover Tuesday evening.

Police were dispatched to the corner of Hanover and William street around 9 p.m. after a report of shots fired.

According to Sgt. Adam Glueck, a 22 year-old Cape Girardeau man was shot once on the side of his body. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Glueck reports no one is in custody at this time.

The shooting is under investigation.

When KFVS crews arrived, authorities were talking to residents of an apartment building. A silver minivan was being towed away.

Firefighters were also on scene.
