MARION, IL (KFVS) -

Get ready to run into a few roadblocks throughout Williamson County over the next month or so.

Sheriff Bennie Vick on Monday announced a traffic safety campaign that will run through August. During the campaign, roadside safety checks will be scheduled at all times to encourage safe driving.

Vick said these roadside checks will be held at different locations, but he did not specify where. Deputies will be making sure drivers aren't under the influence of alcohol or drugs, are wearing seat belts and have proper insurance.

Several DUI saturation patrols may also be scheduled through the next few weeks, Vick said.

A saturation patrol is generally defined as a patrol tactic in which a large number of officers are concentrated into a small area.
