MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A Mississippi County man was arrested in connection to an fraudulent gun purchase investigation.

Gregory Stephen Hall, Junior, 41, of East Prairie, was charged with fraudulent purchase of a firearm.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, the investigation began earlier in the week when deputies received information that Hall had tried to buy guns from multiple area firearms dealers.

Because there is an order of protection against him, deputies say Hall is prohibited by federal law from buying a gun.

During the investigation, officers determined that Hall had provided false information about his eligibility to buy a gun on an application submitted to an area firearms dealer.

Hall was taken into custody in East Prairie on an arrest warrant. He was taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Hall remains in the Mississippi County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash only bond.
