Archery competition, youth camp coming to Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

Seasoned bow hunters and children interested in archery can set their sites on an upcoming charity event in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

The 5th annual St. Jude Archery Shoot and Auction will take place Saturday, August 8 at the MO Department of Conservation Archery Range on NN Highway.

The event begins with trickle starts from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Entry fee is $15 and competitors have the chance to win a 2015 Havoc 553DB boat and aluminum trailer.

The event, presented by US Bank, raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis and carries the slogan "Shooting to Save Lives."

That same day, children interested in learning the safety and techniques of shooting a bow and arrow can participate in a free youth camp at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The camp is open to kids ages 7 and up.

A responsible adult must be present during the camp, which is sponsored by The Bank of Missouri, D/D Construction Management, LLC and First Community Insurance.
