POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - A Southeast Missouri native has been signed by the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA.
Tyler Hansbrough was signed Wednesday by the team as a free agent.
Hansbrough graduated from Poplar Bluff High School, helping lead the team to two state championships.
He then went on to play at the University of North Carolina, where he set multiple team records, including most career points, most field goals made, and most free throws made.
Hansbrough was then drafted in 2009 by the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. He played there for four years, before he signed a contract with the Toronto Raptors in 2013.
