13-year-old dies, 16-year-old injured after off-road vehicle crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A 13-year-old boy died and a 16-year-old boy was injured after an ATV and off-road motorcycle crash in Franklin County, Illinois on Monday, July 20.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened on Camp Hope Road and Kettemen Lane at about 4:25 p.m.

They say the 13-year-old boy was driving an off-road motorcycle and the 16 year old was driving a four-wheel ATV. Both were taken by ambulance from the scene.

The 13 year old was airlifted to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
