Railroad upgrades to close US 60 Business at N. 9th street in Paducah

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Drivers will need to use a detour if they use US 60-Business/Park Avenue in Paducah starting on Tuesday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports P&L Railroad plans to close US 60-Business at mile point 1.754 in the one-way westbound intersection with North 9th Street.

This closure will allow crews to make upgrades at the rail crossing.

The roadway is expected to close at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, and reopen to traffic late on Friday, July 24, 2015.

There will be a marked detour via US 45-Business/North 8th Street and US 45/H.C. Mathis Drive.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet encourages drivers to who use that area to find an alternate route.

The transportation cabinet reports 4,500 vehicles travel this one-way westbound section of US 60-Business in an average day.
