5 arrested in Southern IL on felony drug charges

5 arrested in Southern IL on felony drug charges

Following a lengthy investigation, Energy police arrested five people on felony drug charges.

On July 19 at 12:25 a.m., the Energy Police Department executed a search warrant in the 400 block of East Clark Trail in Herrin.

According to Energy Police, it was the conclusion of an investigation that started several months ago.

Tyler Lewallen, Tyler C. Stoelzle, and Try Ngov, all from Herrin, were taken into custody and charged with manufacture/delivery of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A follow-up investigation led Energy officers to the the 200 block of Grand Avenue in Carterville, Illinois where Heath LeWallen and Mateja L. Ponthier, both of Carterville, were taken into custody.

Police say Lewallen attempted to run from officers, but was apprehended without incident.

Authorities searched the property in Carterville, and reportedly found cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Lewallen is charged with manufacture/delivery of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Heath Lewallen is also being held on an outstanding Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.

Ponthier was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing justice, and concealing or aiding a fugitive.

All Suspects were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
