Carlisle County woman charged with DUI, child endangerment

CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Carlisle County woman was arrested after allegedly driving while intoxicated with two children in the car.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office got a call about the incident late Sunday night.

A deputy stopped Jennifer Burgess, 31, after she failed to use a turn signal and in connection to the original report.

The sheriff's office reports, when the deputy was talking to Burgess he noticed she was driving with two children, ages 9 and 13, and Burgess smelled like alcohol.

The deputy conducted several field sobriety tests and arrested Burgess.

She is being held at the Graves County Jail where she is facing charges for improper turning, no operator's license, DUI in the first degree, and two counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree.

The children were released to a responsible adult.
