Wappapello VFW Auxiliary donates to Veterans concert

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Wappapello VFW Post 3416 Ladies Auxiliary has made a significant donation to the 2016 Valentines for Veterans concert in honor of the Department of Veterans Affairs' "Summer of Service" initiative.

Voluntary Service Chief Donna Reynolds said, "We are extremely privileged to work with so many great Veterans Service Organizations like the VFW. The concert is a popular annual event, and is a great way to bring area veterans together."

The concert is held each year in February around Valentine's Day to honor those who have served and are serving in the armed forces, and for their families.

"This will be the 6th year that we can provide entertainment for veterans who reside in our community," Reynolds noted. "Over 3,500 veterans and their families filled the seats this past February, why not fill every seat in the coliseum in 2016?"

Those interested in volunteering or donating to various veterans' causes may contact the Poplar Bluff VA Medical Center Voluntary Service Office, at (573) 778-4276 or (573) 778-4499.
