Vigil held for a founder of Fruitland FD

One of the founders of Fruitland FD passed away

FRUITLAND, MO (KFVS) - One of the founders of the Fruitland Fire Department has passed away.

Carl Reimann died of pneumonia on Thursday, July 16, according to his son.

A vigil was held on Friday morning at McComb's Funeral Home in his honor.

We talked to a man who founded the department with Reimann. He said even after their days of fighting fires were over, they always kept in touch.

"His friendly personality. He and I had a lot of visiting days otherwise besides just fire department," Marty Shuesler, retired fire chief, said. "We still met each other periodically and talked and reminisced about things that happened back awhile ago."

Funeral services are planned for Saturday at 10 a.m. at McComb's Funeral Home.
