2 people facing drug charges in separate cases in TN

WEAKLEY COUNTY, TN (KFVS) -

Officials in Weakley County, Tennessee arrested and charged two people in separate cases on drug charges.

Investigators from the Weakley County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant Thursday at the home of Julian Acosta Rodriguez, 39, west of Martin, Tennessee.

The search revealed nearly six ounces of crystal methamphetamine, along with digital scales and 12 grams of marijuana.

Investigators also recovered two semi automatic pistols - one of which was reported stolen in Toledo, Ohio on July 22, 2014.

Investigators seized $4300 cash from the house, along with a 2002 BMW 325i and other electronic items believed to have been purchased with profits from the sale of methamphetamine. 

Rodriguez is being charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to resale, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen firearm.

He is being held without bond at this time.

Also on Thursday, the Weakley County Sheriff's Department arrested Kayla Nicole Copeland, 27, of Martin, Tennessee, after a traffic stop, charging her with possession of methamphetamine with intent to resale and possession of marijuana.

Copeland, who was in possession of seven grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana, was also charged with driving on a suspended drivers license, and failure to signal for a turn. 

Her bond was set at $2500. 

Agents from the D.E.A. Task Force in Memphis assisted the Sheriff's Department in the cases.
