Cape Girardeau police respond to shooting

Investigation continues in Cape Girardeau shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to a shooting in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday evening.

It happened at 2826 Whitener Street.

According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department, dispatch received a call from a local hospital around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday in regards to a shooting.

Officers spent the night canvassing the area and speaking to neighbors.

Police say a 25-year-old black male was taken to the hospital with a gun shot wound.

The police department says the victim's injuries are not life threatening.

Police say no arrest has been made. However, they are looking for two black males that could possibly be connected to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
