PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A third person has been arrested in connection with a home burglary in Paducah on July 9.

Michael S. Wright, 23, of Paducah, was charged with first degree burglary.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, detectives saw someone in the Lone Oak area and suspected there was a connection between them and Wright.

Detectives say they lost sight of the vehicle in the area of the College Avenue Apartments. A short time later, they received information about a man, matching a description of Wright, seen getting into the trunk of a small blue car.

Detectives found the car going north on Lone Oak Road and say they saw the car try to hide behind a K-Mart.

They stopped the car and say they found Wright in the car's trunk.

Wright was taken to the sheriff's department where detectives say he confessed to being a part of the burglary.

He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail without incident.

Deputies say additional charges in this case are likely.

On Thursday, July 9, officers responded to the 800 block of Old Mayfield Road for a report of a home burglary.

The victim reported that numerous guns, ammunition, electronics, currency, jewelry and other valuables had been taken.

Deputies say information and evidence recovered from the scene and witnesses gave them a strong person of interest. That person was identified as Justin Ellis.

On July 10, officers went to a  house on South 6th Street where they believed Ellis was hiding out.

Ellis was found inside and deputies say a search of the home revealed thousands of dollars' worth of other electronics, guns and valuables believed to have been taken from the home on Old Mayfield Road.

Ellis was arrested and charged with one count of first degree burglary, along with an outstanding bench warrant.

Deputies say the ongoing investigation lead them to a house in the 800 block of North 23rd Street where they recovered more guns believed to have been taken during the burglary.

They also identified another suspect in connection to the burglary, Joseph R. Helton, 31, of Paducah.

On Tuesday, July 14 at about 6:30 p.m., detectives executed a search warrant at Joseph Helton's home in the 900 block of Oscar Cross Avenue.

They say a search of the home revealed more alleged stolen guns, safes that were believed to have been taken from the home, along with tools and other items.

Deputies say the investigation revealed that Helton's garage was the location that all of the items believed to be taken in the burglary were initially stored and gone through before allegedly being divided between Helton, Ellis and Wright.

Helton was charged with first degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a defaced firearm.
