PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah woman has been arrested on a charge of growing marijuana plants illegally.

Officials say a tip from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department led Paducah Police Department Drug and Vice Enforcement investigators to a marijuana grow operation on South 7th Street in Paducah.

Officers say Livingston County authorities arrested Amanda Leach, 28, of Paducah, Ky., on charges in that county.

During their investigation, they found photographs and text messages on Leach’s cell phone of and about marijuana plants.

Officers interviewed Leach, who admitted growing marijuana and told them where to find the plants.

Officers then found five marijuana plants growing in the woods on South 7th Street, across from Leach’s home on Murray Avenue.

The plants were seized and Leach was charged with cultivating five or more marijuana plants.

She was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
