Poplar Bluff police looking for help in check forgery case

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

Police are looking for someone who may be behind a string of forged checks passed at the Poplar Bluff Walmart.

Poplar Bluff Police said the checks have been written over the past few weeks by a woman captured on surveillance camera. Police would also like to speak to several people seen in the store with the woman at different times.  

They say the total reported loss to date is about $1,615.24. A $220.26 check was declined on Sunday.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact Captain David Sutton at the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-686-8649.
