This week in music: 1989

(KFVS) -

Let's dip into the Billboard archives and travel back to this week in 1989.

Ordinarily we look at the songs atop the hot 100, but this morning we're going country.

These were the top five country songs on the Billboard chart.

At number five "She's Got a Single Thing in Mind" by country legend Conway Twitty.

At number four was Ronnie Milsap with "Houston Solution."

Reba McEntire was holding down the number three position with a remake of an old Everly Brothers' hit "Cathy's Clown."

The "King" George Strait checked in at number two with "What's Going On In Your World."

At at the top of the charts Eddy Raven with "In A Letter to You."

Those are the songs being played on country music radio this week 26 years ago.
