Weather Outlook:

The heat and humidity are cranking up again today. Brian says the heat index will creep up to 104-105 this afternoon. If you're outside, take precautions to avoid heat-related injuries, like drinking plenty of water, check your backseat so you don’t accidentally leave a child in a car seat or pet behind, and if you have outdoor pets make sure they have water and shade. Making headlines:

He's in: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is officially the 15th Republican to join the race for president.

Engulfed in flames: Residents along Poplar Street in Dexter were awoken by an early morning fire. Witnesses say they heard an explosion and immediately after the roof went up into flames.

Deadly crash: Route 3 in Alexander County is back open this morning after part of it was shut down because of a car crash involving a cyclist.

Same-sex marriage back in court: A federal judge is set to hear arguments about a county clerk who is refusing to issue marriage licenses.

    The Army Corps of Engineers River Commission made a stop by Cape Girardeau on Sunday as part of their low water inspection trip.
