Southeast marketing students named finalists in International competition

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Two Southeast Missouri State University students were finalists recently in the 2015 Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference and Competition in Orlando, Florida.

Harman Malhi of New Delhi, India, was a Top 10 Finalist in the Banking and Financial Services competition, and Nibesh Amatya of Bhaktapur, Nepal, was a finalist in the Entrepreneurship Challenge competition.

The Southeast students competed in a field of more than 1,000 outstanding students from colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.

Along with Malhi and Amatya, other Southeast students participating in the competition April 18-21 were Southeast Marketing Club students Omar Dawood of Dhaka, Bangladesh; Hannah Gordon of Arnold, Missouri; Kory Hamill of Ballwin, Missouri; Jeremiah Hathorn of St. Louis, Missouri; and Allie Winters of Ballwin, Missouri.

    The Army Corps of Engineers River Commission made a stop by Cape Girardeau on Sunday as part of their low water inspection trip.
