Paducah, KY woman injured in crash

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah, Kentucky woman was injured in a crash on Lebannon Church Road on Friday, July 10.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, at about 5:49 p.m., deputies and emergency crews were dispatched to the 1300 block of Lebannon Church Road for a crash and possible entrapment.

Deputies say 26-year-old Melissa Knight was going east in her 1999 Oldsmobile when she approached the crest of a hill. As she did so, they say an unknown vehicle backed out of a nearby driveway to go west.

Knight told deputies that it appeared that she might crash into the rear of the vehicle, and swerved to avoid the crash.

After doing so, Knight's car slipped off of the right shoulder of the road.

When she brought the car back onto the road, deputies say she lost control, crossed the center line and left the opposite side of the road. She then hit several trees.

Deputies say emergency personnel removed Knight from the car. She was taken to a nearby hospital.
