JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - The city of Jackson announced the South High Street storm siren is fully functional as of Friday, July 17.
They said repairs were completed and the siren is working as expected.
The Jackson Fire Department said a week prior that the storm siren was out.
The city reiterated that the outdoor storm warning sirens in Jackson are meant to warn individuals who are outdoors that a tornado warning has been issued for Cape Girardeau County.
Residents should take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their family and to tune into their radio, television, or weather radio for additional information, as they may or not be able to hear the siren while inside their homes or place of business.
