SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said a Sikeston woman has been arrested and charged with possession of illegal drugs.

Sadonna M. Lewis, 36, of Sikeston, is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Walter said a deputy responded to the Lewis residence Thursday night to assist the Missouri Children’s Division.

While at the home, the deputy was given reason to believe that there may be drugs there.

A search conducted a short time later revealed the discovery of what appeared to be controlled substances along with drug paraphernalia.

Lewis admitted to police that she took illegal drugs earlier in the day while her two children were inside the home.

Lewis remains incarcerated in the Scott County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
